Momenteel worden ze geregistreerd en op de markt gebracht in meer dan 160 landen.<\/p>\n<p>Wanneer herbiciden op basis van glyfosaat worden gebruikt in overeenstemming met de instructies op het etiket, zijn ze een veilig en doeltreffend middel om onkruid te bestrijden dat de landbouwproductie in gevaar zou brengen. Dit door de productiviteit en kwaliteit van onkruid te verminderen<strong>, <\/strong>die ook de veiligheid, stabiliteit en bruikbaarheid van spoorlijnen, snelwegen, dammen, viaducten en meer zouden kunnen beschadigen. Als onkruid niet doeltreffend wordt bestreden, kan dat leiden tot hogere productiekosten of oogstverliezen, wat de inkomsten van landbouwers negatief be\u00efnvloedt.<\/p>\n<p>\nDe in 1974 ge\u00efntroduceerde herbiciden op basis van glyfosaat worden sindsdien veilig gebruikt. In de landbouw worden ze toegepast op een breed scala aan gewassen en grasland.<\/p>\n<p>\nGlyfosaat heeft een lange geschiedenis van bijdragen aan een betere gezondheid en biodiversiteit van de bodem, waardoor landbouwpraktijken zonder of met weinig grondbewerking mogelijk worden.
