FR On 12 December 2019, the Glyphosate Renewal Group submitted an Application document to each of the four Member States in the Assessment Group on Glyphosate (France, Hungary, the Netherlands and Sweden), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Commission and all other EU Member State
FR The application for the renewal of the active substance glyphosate was initially submitted on 12 December by the Glyphosate Renewal Group (GRG) to the evaluating Member States (AGG), EFSA and the European Commission. FR The deadline to present the application was 15 December 2019, three years before the expiry of the current glyphosate authorisation (15 December 2022). FR The first application document, which you find on this website for download, contained information on new and ongoing studies. FR Furthermore, the GRG submitted data protection claims pursuant to Article 59 of Regulation (EU) No 1107/2009; the format of this application is set out in the Annex of Regulation (EU) No 844/2012.
FR After review, the AGG Member States requested some amendments to the Application document. FR On 23 January 2020, the Glyphosate Renewal Group provided to each of the four AGG Member States a new Application document revised accordingly to the AGG comments. FR You can find also this document on this website for download. FR After review, the AGG Member States confirmed completeness and admissibility of the Application.
FR Glyphosate is approved for use in the European Union as an active substance in Plant Protection Products until 15 December 2022. FR An application for renewal must be submitted three years before this expiry date (15 December 2019), followed by the submission of a full dossier within the next six months (15 June 2020). FR The Assessment Group on Glyphosate (AGG), jointly acting as Rapporteur Member State, will then start a comprehensive scientific evaluation.
FR The upcoming review of the approval is a regulatory process taking into account progress in science and technology and experience gained since the active substance was last reviewed. FR Glyphosate will be assessed in terms of its safety for humans, animals and the environment.
